Belgian patients

What do you need?

  • Your ID card
  • A request letter or referral for an ultrasound and/or MRI examination from your referring physician
  • An examination can also be performed without a request letter or referral, at no additional cost

How to pay for your examination

Payment is to be made in our secretary's office after the examination. The only accepted payment method is debit card. We will provide you with an invoice you can submit to your Belgian health insurance fund.

Important information before you book an MRI examination at Open MRI Zen

Within the European context, Belgian patients and those insured under the Belgian compulsory health insurance scheme are free to choose their care provider, including across national borders. However, European legislation also recognises that interventions for certain types of care remain subject to prior approval by the health insurance fund.

Currently, the Belgian health insurance funds do not provide reimbursement for MRI or ultrasound examinations undergone at Open MRI Zen. For Belgian patients, we apply the following rates.

MRI examinations for Belgian patients in our centre
We offer high-quality MRI examinations to all Belgian patients, with fast service and performed by professional imaging professionals, at the following rates:
Standard MRI examination: 149 EUR or 199 EUR, to be paid right away by the patient at the end of the examination.

Ultrasound examinations for Belgian patients in our centre
Standard high-resolution ultrasound examinations: 59 EUR, to be paid right away by the patient at the end of the examination.

We also offer targeted ultrasound-guided treatment following a standard ultrasound examination: 80 EUR OR 150 EUR, to be paid right away by the patient at the end of the examination.

Every patient is free to submit this to their health insurance fund anyway and to ask whether reimbursement can be granted under certain circumstances.

No-show rate

If you don't show up for an MRI examination at the time your appointment without cancelling it 24 hours in advance, the cost of the examination (the booked time slot) will be charged to you.
